“According to the researches conducted at the golf laboratory, University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC), the magnitude of upper body coiling during the back swing and the velocity of its uncoiling during the down swing have a direct impact on ball velocity (which in turn is related to driving distance)”

James M. Smoliga, a doctoral student in NMRL, presented two group studies in the American College of Sports mentioning, “Golfers generally do not have a lot of torsional flexibility and strength”.
